Key Transition Dates

March 28

Letters from First State Community Bank containing specific account information will begin to arrive. You may receive multiple letters if you have more than one account. The letters will be addressed to the primary account holder. 

April 14

First State Community Bank debit cards will begin to arrive. You will receive activation instructions, including how to change your PIN, with your card. Call 877-443-3722 to activate your card. You may begin using your new card on Monday, May 1st, 2017, PLEASE NOTE: Cards will not work prior to 3:00 a.m. on May 1st 2017. 

April 14

Letters from First State Community Bank containing online banking login information will begin to arrive. Online banking users will receive a letter containing a username and password. 

April 24

First State Community Bank checks will begin to arrive. 

April 29

Former Bank Midwest locations will open as First State Community Bank.

May 1

First State Community Bank online & mobile banking will be available after 8:00 a.m. First State Community Bank debit cards may be activated and used after 3:00 a.m.

Personal Accounts

Checking Account Details

Most customers will see little or no changes. You will receive a letter with specific account details in the coming weeks. These letters will contain the last four digits of your account number to help you identify which account the information is regarding.

Account Numbers

Your account numbers will not change.


You will receive a supply of checks prior to the transition date. The design you have now is what you will receive with the new routing number and the First State Community Bank logo. 

If you currently order checks from a different provider be sure to provide your new routing number. First State Community Bank’s Routing Number is 081918425.

Recurring Debit Transactions

If you have recurring payments made using your current Central Bank MasterCard® Debit Card you will need to contact the company and provide your new First State Community Bank Debit MasterCard® information.

Direct Deposits & Automatic Withdrawals

Originators of automatic withdrawals and direct deposits will need to be notified and provided with your new routing number.

Account Statements

Your account statement will have a slightly different look, but you will continue to receive a statement similar to what you have received in the past. If you received images of your checks, your new statement will also include check images. 

If you currently receive electronic statements you will continue to receive your statement electronically.

Personal Savings & Money Market

Savings Withdrawals

You may make three free withdrawals per monthly statement cycle. A $3.00 fee will apply for each in excess of three per monthly statement cycle.

Savings Interest

Interest is compounded daily and credited quarterly.

Money Market Withdrawals/Transfers

You may make six (6) withdrawals and/or transfers per monthly statement cycle. A $5.00 fee will apply for each additional pre-authorized transfer to another account or to third-parties per monthly statement cycle in excess of six.

Money Market Interest

Interest is compounded and credited when the monthly statement is printed.

Debit Cards

Your New FSCB Debit MasterCard®

First State Community Bank debit cards will begin to arrive. You will receive activation instructions, including how to change your PIN, with your card. Call 877-443-3722 to activate your card. You may begin using your new card on Monday, May 1st, 2017, PLEASE NOTE: Cards will not work prior to 3:00 a.m. on May 1st 2017. 

Debit Card Numbers

Your new debit card will have a new card number and expiration date embossed on the front. You will need to provide the new card information to companies that make automatic recurring charges to your debit card.

PIN Numbers

When you receive your replacement card, you will have the opportunity to create a new personal identification number (PIN). Please call 1-888-443-3722, the Card Services “Self-Service” number, to activate and PIN your new card.

EMV Chip Cards

Your new card will be equipped with EMV technology to help protect you from fraudulent transactions. To learn more about EMV, please visit www.fscb.com/banking/emv-tech.

Lost/Stolen/Compromised Cards

If your card has been lost, stolen or at any time you suspect that you have been a victim of fraud, please contact First State Community Bank as soon as possible by calling the number on the back of your card - 1-877-955-3722.

Online, Mobile & Telephone Banking

FSCB has a mobile app – available on iTunes and Google Play – that offers text alerts, free person-to-person transfers, mobile check deposit and more. Click here for more information.


If you use Bank Midwest's online banking, you will be enrolled automatically in First State Community Bank’s online banking system effective Monday, May 1, 2017.

You will receive a separate communication in the coming weeks with instructions on how to login and continue to use online banking.


Effective Monday, May 1, 2017 you can access First State Community Bank’s online banking service at FSCB.com. Click on the “Login” button on the home page. Or download the FSCB Mobile Banking app through your app store. 

Online Banking Fees

Personal accounts can be accessed online and through mobile banking at no charge. We also offer online banking solutions for businesses. Ask to speak to a member of our deposit services team for a fee schedule.

Transaction History

We will make every effort to retain up to 6 months of history for you. We recommend saving any historical data you think you might need prior to April 28th from your existing online banking profile. 

Online Bill Pay

Bill pay is available free of charge for personal accounts. Payments submitted by noon on a particular business day will be processed that same day. Online bill payments that are processed as a check payment will be handled differently. Your account will be debited when the check posts to the payee’s account.

Electronic Statements

First State Community Bank offers electronic statements that will allow you to receive your bank statements online or you may choose to receive paper statements delivered by mail.

Telephone Banking

You will have access to 24-hour telephone banking service as of May 24th, 2016 by calling 1-888-443-3722. You can call from anywhere in the US to check your account balances, confirm that a check has cleared, transfer funds between your First State Community Bank accounts, and much more. All accounts will be automatically enrolled in telephone banking.

The first time you use telephone banking you will use your account number and the last four digits of your Social Security Number. For added safety, we recommend changing your telephone banking PIN when using the system for the first time.

*Please note that transfers made via telephone banking may not immediately post to your account. In order to ensure that transfers are posted the current day’s business, please schedule transfers before 6:30 p.m. Central Time.

CDs & IRAs

Certificate of Deposit Renewal/Maturity

Certificate of Deposit will renew upon maturity at the current fixed rate for the specific term.

Interest Rates

The interest rate on CDs and IRAs will remain the same until the first maturity after May 1, 2017. At that time, the fixed rate of your CD and IRA will be established based on current FSCB rates.


The terms for your CD or IRA will remain unchanged.

Automatic Renewal

Yes, after May 1, 2017 you will have the convenience of automatically renewing CDs.

IRA Details

If you have an IRA that matures automatically, you will receive a notice prior to the maturity informing you of the new term and rate.

NOTICE: First State Community Bank will be replacing Bank Midwest as your IRA Custodian which is a seamless process with no action required. As your custodian we would like to visit with you to ensure your beneficiaries are current and our files are accurate with all of your most recent information.
